Come join us for six fun-filled drum-circle style classes accessible to everyone, from “never-ever played any instrument EVER” to the seasoned musician. Through the experience of playing multi-part rhythms from around the world, we will learn how to make a drum sound great, enjoy making music together as a community, and creatively express ourselves with percussion! John will provide drums, bells, boomwhackers and other exotic percussion. Feel free to bring any percussion instrument you own, even if you don't know what it is.
NO EXPERIENCE NECESSARY!
This class is FREE but we would appreciate your registering so we can plan for instruments.
About the instructor: John Felice has been leading drum-circles and teaching the hand-drumming traditions of Africa and other cultures for over 25 years throughout New England. Since 1995 he has led the local drum group "Positive RePercussions." He is passionate about and committed to sharing the healing power and "mindfulness" aspects of drumming, as well as the purely joyful and musical aspects. Restoration of damaged and forlorn instruments, and crafting beautiful custom drums is another of John's passions.
Photo, right: John Felice leads a session at the "Day of Music and Movement" on August 15, and returns by popular demand!
Please note: a Zoom component is not envisioned for this class.
Sorry, Registration has ended.
