How Can We Help Seacoast Immigrants?
Sunday, November 22, 2020 • 6 Kislev 5781
4:00 PM - 5:30 PMAlmost 100 people are detained at the Seacoast-area Strafford County Jail due to their immigration status. Where are they from and why are they detained? How can our community help? Peggy Kieschnick, a member of the Seacoast Interfaith Sanctuary Coalition (SISC) will speak about immigrant detention on Sunday, November 22, 4 – 5:30 pm. SISC is a coalition of faith communities and individuals working to support our immigrant neighbors who face threats of detention, family separation, and violence. SISC also supports people held in immigration detention at the Strafford County Jail and a network of Temporary Host Homes and Support Teams for those released from jail.
